If biography is about who you are then this is not my biography rather an experience on how  I discovered my talent during my hard times in my earlier life. 

This talent of a thing is in everyone. Some are blessed as multitalented while others are given only one talent. The most important for every person is to try look within or inside himself in order to reap the seed of his purpose while on earth. The more you water the seed, the more fruitful it becomes. You are responsible for your life. 

I AM THE DISCIPLE OF MY OWN TALENT

I am Batholomew Obienyi. I was born in the great union of Ihejiako and Bridget Obienyi in the village named Agbama Amaidi Achara Uturu Abia State Nigeria.

I was 3 years plus when my father died. And I could remember our enjoyments and sufferings.

My family background was very poor. And we lived in two room’s house built with mod blocks with licking roofs more than 22 years.

I went to government primary school in my basics and came out with almost empty brain. But then, I can reason.

I was witnessing all events only in my memory and unable to share with anybody. I could recall choosing a secondary school to attend for myself because I was trying to make a choice. But my mother over shadowed me and redirected my choice with forces of angry words.

Then she decided for me. And I went to commercial secondary school. Since then, my mother has not decided for me again in my life.

All the subjects in my first term result were marked with red pen. This only indicated that I was a failure. And I was proud showing it to people and they were celebrating it only Emefu Chukwuebuka who explains it for me. He told me that I failed. This annoyed me. And I was saying this in my heart, why did those I showed it to the first place didn’t tell me? I understand that it takes courage to look at somebody no matter the age in the face and tell him, he is a failure. Only those who want you to improve can do that.

 

I would have been a failure in life if not…

 

I took charge of my life in my junior class 2 because my mother who is my only near helper wants to start training my younger sister Chinyere with her money earned from farming in people’s farm lands.

I battled in the field of learning with my teachers who used batting and sticks on me in teaching me how to think for myself. My classmates like Maureen Nwankwo and Peace Echendu whose companions I enjoyed in teaching me how to pronounce and spell and read as well.

If you cannot think for yourself – you cannot discover your faults.

See, if you cannot discover your fault that means you cannot grow, nor change your current erroneous state. There are no other way of growing accept by thinking on how to discover yourself. Discovery yourself means thinking for yourself and knowing the next necessary directions or actions to take in order to improve your life.

It is now that I discovered my errors then.  The errors were there because no one motivated me from the first place. I was doing everything for myself – not my cause but the environment I was passing through contributed.

In real sense, I need not blame anybody including environments.

I make another choice that my mother is not aware. What was the choice? I promised myself within that I would serve that purpose of motivation for others which I have lacked from the beginning of my life.

Our high intelligent principal Chief I.C. Azumara showed it through his examples of works but we could not recognize it. It was motivation that my classmates were offering to me but then I did comprehend it. Now I took it to heart.

Have you lived with an insightful widow before?

Gradually, I turned to a learning reader with the help of my class mates who laughs at me in my erroneous pronunciation of words and sentences. I discovered that it is in trying to learn that we truly know. After the process, I make a promise to myself to study more of my books in order to learn more to achieve the goal I was sent to accomplish by my lovely mother who made the best choice for me.

I cannot tell how I came to value the word motivation.

Maybe it could be out of my numerous researches on how I could improve reading, writing and drawing skills with my nice friend Onyebuchi Nwankwo who is also inquisitive in learning new things.

In our secondary school days, our seniors don’t come for us for motivations. It affected many poor students like us as some people later dropped out of school.

The struggling continues after secondary school.

But it was in secondary that I started writing poems like; The Immortal Moon, The Crying Birds and others that I did not value much. I was 19 years when I finished my secondary.

 

I finished but life has not finished with me. I set out the next year for other motivations about growth.

 

Buddha words read:  

“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.” - Buddha

I love speaking publically especially to secondary school students and village rutted individuals whose mindset has been reshaped by poverty and environment.

I love discovery and sharing of ideas with people. Am trying my best to be friendly but not working according to what people are telling me on how to live my life unless those I think upon.  I decided to choose my life. And I did follow my bliss.

 

I choose to write, motivate and think.

I then became a Writer, Motivational Speaker and a Free Thinker

I believe so much in enlightenment works and I like music and gym exercises.

I found out that people need motivations but many do not want to be the motivators themselves.

I promised myself to be different among others - I choose to be a motivator. I discuss ideas not qualifications. 

I have written so far three books now such as: Our Little World, Deep Down I Came Up and A Witch Encounter which they came as inspirations and life experiences.

I was surviving without fear but faith in my Creator. I acknowledged my challenges because they are there in front of me.

Nature has lots of good things for us if only we could bend down to master ourselves and do what we love no matter who kicked it off. Find out what is your purpose on earth. Listen to that inner voice that always wants to direct you.

 

There in the holy bible was written; "Seek you shall find. Knock the door shall be open. Ask and it shall be given. Believe and you shall receive" - Said Jesus Christ.

We are in a wide world and dynamic world with technologies influences.

I strongly believe that one who follows the Light shall not be afraid of the Dark. One who endures conquers. He who waits has everything.

I have set out to know more, do more, achieve more than the whole world is expecting of me. This could not be accomplished by mere sayings and day dreaming about it rather, with dedicated actions and faith in my gifts to help the people of the universe in my own level of inspiration and awareness.

Goal setting has been a big tough challenge to many unsuccessful people today. Even the so said successful ones became hooked up in setting higher goals in order to meet up with their competitors.

Setting an achievable goal is one step while achieving a set goal is the second step. 

This challenge has been in existence since the creation of man in his environment ever then, man has continue to search for a new and better way of accomplishing his heart desire through error and trial or through inventions of others. 

These six steps of setting a goal and achieving it is a working practical that if followed works like magic. They are explained below:

1. KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE: 

This is the first action for one to take in order to start reaching out a set goal in life. To achieve, you must truly know what you desire to be, have, and want in life before setting any goal.

2. WRITE IT DOWN: 

This is another powerful step to take but many people devalue it. Always write your goals down. Write whatever you wish to accomplish in life on a piece of paper or on a note book. Having a written down plans for your goal is essential. 

Always occupy your mind with what you love to see as your goal. Even at night, make sure you have a written blank book to write any inspiring idea or action to take because inspired actions that can fetch you millions can come at any time.

3. REVIEW YOUR WRITTEN DOWN STEPS:

After knowing what to achieve. You write it down. It is your duty to review what you have written down as steps of achieving that goal. And make changes where necessary towards accomplishing the goal.

4. MAP OUT DATE AND TIME:

Mapping out date and time towards achieving your set goal is crucial. Date and Time determines your progress. 

You should always watch your time of setting a particular goal and the time of achieving it. Master time management. Be conscious of your time consumption. Waste time without experience can never be recovered.

5. VISUALIZE EVENT AND PEOPLE: 

The real secret lies in this fifth step. Form the habit of visualizing event before it happen. Visualizing event, people and what to do before it comes always help. 

The whole secret in reaching your goal is in visualizing actions to take before acting. It simply mean seeing with your mind eyes. Most spiritual teachers named it the third eye.

6. ACTION AND RESULT ORIENTED:

It is said that let the end justify the means. You must be a person of actions despite the rough road in all life situations. You should concentrate mostly on what you want to achieve. Again, focus your attentions on the end result.

The three greatest hindrances of human kind development  which have eaten deep in the lives of many youths nation wide. They are the reasons many people refuse to venture into their real life callings. 

To over come these greatest damaging fears in our heart of hearts, one needs self encouragement, self motivation, insightful in nature and believing in Self-Containment and God. These are the only ways shame, mistakes and fear can be conquered. 

MISTAKES, FEAR AND SHAME  are the greatest hindrances of human kind. It is only the timidity in heart would these three things affect.

Fear leads to mistakes and mistakes leads to shame and shame leads to failures. Forget your shame and mistakes and run to your success.

This word mistake, can be seen as an error in action, calculation, opinion, or judgment caused by poor reasoning, carelessness, insufficient knowledge or misconception of an idea.

In spite of your fears to act, to try new things out, to invade your world and to explore the unknown is it not better to act in boldness and kindness. 

Focusing on fear of what you will face at the moment will cause more harm than you may imagine. 

Fear is what lead men to be greedy and greedy leads to war as war put the world into unending conflict and tumor. Fear comes in many phase: it could be because of lack of education, self confidence, belief, cultural differences or racism. 

No matter what form it may appear, always cloth your face with boldness because it covers a lots of faults. Enoch Tan the creator of MindReality said in one of his article that there’s magic in boldness.   

On the other hand, mistakes are temporary occurrences that do not happen all the time. Mistake is not always but it occurs sometimes in one’s live performance.

Those who fear mistakes are of the little minds and spirits and lack self courage and determination to move forward in life and its challenges. Any action done by mistake is met to be repeated in mind. 

When you made a mistake in any of your daily activities, don’t dwell or focus on the mistakes so long because it has been committed there’s no need to cry over split milk. Be bold. Encourage yourself and move on. Besides, nobody is above mistake even if there’s, do not look your eyes nor focus attention on the words. 

We all are working towards perfection not that we are perfect I often whispering to my heart silently.

One step to take to avoid mistakes is to move slowly in your consciousness before speaking out or doing anything worthwhile in life journey. Mistake is good to our growth. Not too much of it. 

Even too much mistakes with never giving up attitude leads to greater success. It teaches us how to stop critics from others because none is faultless. Frequently occurrences of mistakes cause fear. 

But to learn how to swim, we must first of all sink with the waters. We must feed ourselves with the ability to wait. Commit thousands of mistakes in uncommon places with uncommon people but let it be in boldness and you will discover that they will still appreciate you. But you must strive to grow to help yourself.

Lastly, shame is the root cause of mistakes and fear. Over came shame you fly with your invisible wings.

You can have several mentors in different areas

It's possible. It is called reverse mentoring.

Sometimes conflicts can arise.

And if the mentor is not really mature he can become hostile when the mentee starts making fast progress.

Can one's wife or husband serve as ones' mentor?

Mute Efe:

Many ladies have married their mentors

But it is common with men. Most men choose men as mentors. But ladies also choose men, too.

Me:

Can it serve as a life mentoring after marriage?

Can one's mentor intentionally mislead his mentee?

Mute Efe:

Yes.

If it happens, how could one possibly find out in time?

Mute Efe:

A wife can regard her husband as her mentor for life.

I have never heard of such but it is possible. However, there must have been an issue in the relationship and the mentee would have known that all is no longer well.

Me:

If a mentee has a multiple vital purpose in life, should he/her listen or follow the mentor's advice?

Me:

If I ask you now to be my mentor and it happened that you said yes. What would you expect to be your reward - my success in life or in monitory aspect?

Mute Efe:

If the mentee does not want to follow the mentor's advice he should not have chosen him.

For your second question, I am not accepting mentees right now.

Me:

I will have to find out if I am the right mentor for you.

For example, a musician cannot come and ask me to be his mentor. I will decline.

What reward mentors accept from their mentees' mostly?

Mute Efe:

Even though mentors may not demand any reward, it is expected that a mentee should appreciate his mentor.

The mentee should use his discretion to determine the form of appreciation.

Me:

Should one seek to be someone's mentor?

Mute Efe:

No.

But one can start a mentoring program and let people decide whether they want him to be their mentor.

I have one mentor that I pay to be in his program. I have another one that I don't pay.

Is it advisable to be a musician and as well be a public motivational speaker?

What secret should I know about mentoring?

Mute Efe:

A public speaker can be in any profession. Once you are successful people will want you to come speak to them

The secret about mentoring is that everybody needs a mentor in one area or another.

Mentorship is the influence, guidance, or direction given by a mentor. A mentor is someone who teaches or gives help and advice to a less experienced and often younger person. In an organizational setting, a mentor influences the personal and professional growth of a mentee. Wikipedia

A mentor is person who has more knowledge than you do. A mentor gives you direction and mostly motivate you when the bridge seem tiny to cross to the next phase of life.
