THAT COVID -19 REALLY TOUCHED US DEEPLY
Hah!
They say, "Prevention is better than cure."
Well, that's what they say.
But here’s the thing: you can’t live your life by listening to every word people throw at you. If you do, you’ll spend your whole life trying to please mouths that will never be satisfied.
That’s exactly how talents get buried. Someone sings well, but "people will laugh". Someone wants to start a small business, but "what will people say". Just like that, dreams die without a second thought. All because of fear of criticism.
Hmmm!
They also say, "Half bread is better than none."
Okay, I agree with that one.
In life, there is no such thing as "too small to start". That ₦500 you make today can become ₦5000 tomorrow. That one video you post today can become the reason 1000 teens get motivated next month.
A lot of people failed before they even started because they were waiting for "the perfect time" or "for people to clap for them". My brother, my sister, never mind them. Still trust in yourself. Start with the half bread you have.
Now this one… "Half education is dangerous."_
Maybe this one is a lie!
How can knowledge be dangerous? You can’t compare "a little" to "nothing".
It is 100x better to have a little experience in something than to have zero experience and zero courage.
Look at our fathers and mothers who never went to formal school. Did they fold their hands? No. They learned farming, trading, tailoring "half-half". And they fed generations.
So better you go halfway than not go at all. A step forward is still progress.
Let me tell you a story.
During COVID-19, my wife and I nearly had issues. Why? Because there was no trust when we moved around separately. So we made a decision: we would move together, and we would cover ourselves. Mask, sanitizer, distance. The full package.
But guess what?
This did not stop us from interacting with people who took zero precautions. People who coughed without covering, people who said "COVID is not real".
And because of that, many people called us fools. "Look at these pompous people. Acting like they are special."
Some people looked at us on the road like we were stupid. Even after COVID stopped, the same people would still stare and wonder.
Did we stop? No.
We knew it. People will always talk. Whether you’re safe or you’re sick, they’ll have something to say.
We chose prevention over cure. Because your belief system matters a lot.
Out of ignorance, many people died unprepared, with no mercy. We believed, we took action, and by God’s grace we are safe.
So now tell me: is "half education dangerous"?
Or is "no knowledge" more dangerous?
It is better we try and fail than not trying at all.
Life will test you almost every day. People will criticize, laugh, and doubt you. But it is your fate, your choices, and your consistency that will determine your future.
"No knowledge is a waste" is another old adage. And it directly contradicts "half education is dangerous".
So which one will you believe?
It is up to us to make the final judgement. And it is always up to us!
So my brothers and sisters, follow your heart. Listen to that small voice inside you.
No knowledge at all is negative.
But no knowledge is a waste? That one is positive.
Half bread is better than none.
No pain, no gain. If you don't try, you won't succeed at anything.
