THE ONLY TWO REASONS YOU ARE A BLOGGER
One of the reasons many people want to go into blogging is for impact and income.For your information, not everybody will become a blogger. But those who do blog, do it for a reason.
The truth is, we were all born to communicate through a medium best known to us. And if you can write, then deep down, you are already a blogger without doubt.
Bloggers are writers and free thinkers in the world. Period.
But beyond just writing, bloggers suppose to be world changers because their impaction last forever. Through words, creativity, and awareness, bloggers have the power to influence minds, change societies, and inspire people positively especially the online readers.
So why are you blogging? Why did you start writing in the first place?
After speaking with few content creators, I discovered that there are two major reasons why people are content bloggers.
Here is one of them:
1. YOU WANT TO MAKE AN IMPACT ON THE WORLD
The first and most powerful reason people start blogging is impact. You are a blogger because you have something inside you that the world needs to hear it. You want to make a difference in people’s lives, period.
When you research, write, and hit publish for the first time, your goal is not just to post words. Your goal is to groom, help, motivate, and transform your targeted audience into something meaningful.
Few bloggers make their impact through education. You teach people new skills. From cooking to coding to relationship advice. While some bloggers blog for awareness. You talk about issues in your community, religion, culture, and country that most media influencers ignores.
Inspiration is not left out. Your story can give someone hope to keep going. Your words can lift someone out of depression and confusion. Bloggers truly, they preserve a lot of information. Many bloggers write in their native languages to preserve culture and traditions for the next generation to come.
There are bloggers who write unpaid news for their villages. There are bloggers who write about faith because they believe God called them to be a messenger of truth. There are bloggers who write about health, finance, and parenting just to save one life or the other.
These bloggers are not just writers. They are content creators, leaders, and agents of transformation filled with courage to act.
Bloggers are self-motivated people. Many of them feel directed by a higher purpose. They believe God wants to use their pen to express His works on earth.
If your heart is burning for problem solving or sharing messages, then impact is your reason for blogging. And that reason will keep you going even when there is no money coming in.
2. YOU WANT TO MAKE MONEY AND LIVE A LARGER LIFE
To be honest with you, the second reason is money. And there is nothing wrong with that. What is life without money?
You are a blogger because you want to make money with your creativity and passion. You want to live a larger life and die rich. You want financial freedom. You want to provide for your family and build better houses.
Writing for money is good. It is not selfish. In fact, when you make money from blogging, you can do more. You can help more people get better. You can invest in better equipment. You can sponsor events you care about.
But here’s the truth many "money seekers" of bloggers learn too late.
Money without purpose feels empty.
Many bloggers who only chase money are not happy. Why? Because the content they produce does not inspire them. It does not change lives. It does not give them fulfillment because they are not earning as expected.
The best bloggers find the balance. They write content that both makes money and changes lives without descrimination. When your article inspires someone and also pays your bills, that is true success.
There are other realities for blogging for income such as; adSense, affiliate marketing, and a new brand deals can happen overnight.
To have blogger's heart: it takes patience and you must post consistently for 6-12 months before seeing results. Sometimes, it takes collaboration, real bloggers network, and support each other for success.
To succeed as a blogger, don’t let money to be the only reason. Let your money be a byproduct of your impact.
HERE ARE SOME CHALLENGES EVERY REAL BLOGGER FACES WITHOUT RAISING AN ALARM
Being a blogger is not easy because you will face challenges such as;
* Low traffic in the beginning sometimes it last for years
* Google algorithm updates unexpected
* Writer’s block without warning
* People copying your work without permission
* Discouragement when views are low because of low value content.
But real bloggers don’t give up easily because they know their worth and what they want. They persevere to the last. They keep writing even in hard times because they know their words matter not even the money.
If you are still reading, I want to thank you for that, but, please don’t die empty. Never think of it. Try your best. Let your voice be heard.
God has put gifts and talents inside us. The world needs them. One idea can change the whole world and it can be your own idea.
Whatever your hands find to do, do it well. If it’s writing, then write with all your heart. If it’s blogging, then blog with purpose.
To succeed as a blogger, remember these three things many greedy bloggers won't tell you;
1. Be patient. Slow and steady wins the race. Growth is slow.
2. Be consistent. Show up every week no matter how little.
3. Collaborate. Connect with other bloggers in your field. Learn from them and grow together that's the way to success.
Whether your reason is impact, income, or both, just start. The world is waiting for your voice. Yes, start now!
