3 THINGS WEIGHT LIFTERS WILL NOT LIKE TO TELL YOU
My dear, truly no weight lifter will tell you this unless he really likes you.
To be a lifter, one needs to meet some personal criteria: eating belly full, having money to support his body hormones through proper nutrition, taking supplements, and eating good food consistently.
Some people also go to the gym because of body shape. Either you gym to reshape your body structure, or you gym to become a bouncer at the gate of heaven. Gymers can make a lot of money with their bodies through modeling, coaching, security jobs, and social media. But they will never tell you what they are passing through with their body to maintain it.
Here are the three things weight lifters will not like to tell you:
1. WAIST PAIN
Every serious weight lifter deals with serious waist pain. There are other parts of the body that experience pain, but this particular area is where it hits the hardest.
The lower back, the core, and the waist carry the heaviest load during squats, deadlifts, and bent-over rows. Over time, the pressure builds up. Though lifters can get some relief with painkillers, massage, and therapy, once the drugs are not there, the pain comes back again.
Every weight lifter knows the saying: “No pain, no gain.”
They tell themselves this every day.
It takes real endurance to love the gym and continue lifting even when it hurts a lot, and to do it without complaining.
That is why many lifters walk differently. That is why some cannot sit for too long. That is why some sleep with back support belts. The waist is the engine of a lifter’s body. When it goes down, everything goes down.
They won’t tell you how they manage this pain in silence. They ice it. They stretch it. They pray about it to get better. But they will still go back to the gym the next day because quitting feels worse than the pain.
So before you say, “I want to be a weight lifter,” think again. Are you ready to carry pain as part of the process?
Another reason weight lifters will not tell you everything they go through while rebuilding their body structure especially muscle size, chest, and strong bones is muscle pulls and tears.
Muscle pull can happen in any part of the body that is overweight or that experiences stress and expansion more than other parts. When you push beyond your limit to lift heavier, the muscle fibers stretch, tear, and sometimes snap. They will not tell you about muscle pulls because if they do, you will laugh at them. You will also see their weak point.
There are two places where muscle pulls happen the most such as the shoulders and arms and the thigh and hamstring muscles from squats and lunges. These areas often swell up because of stress or the body’s reaction to heavy lifting.
A muscle pull feels like a sharp knife inside your muscle. You cannot lift. You cannot sleep well. You cannot even dress properly for days. But you can control it through rest, good food, supplements and continuous warm up.
What they won’t tell you is that some of these injuries can last for weeks. Some even become permanent if not handled well. But they will still post gym pictures smiling, because that is the brand.
Food is one thing weight lifters do not play with. A weight lifter can reject a beautiful lady and go for food. It is not because they don’t like women. It is because food is fuel.
Many lifters prefer fruits and light meals. Others like heavy food before going to the gym. But one thing is sure, a weight lifter eats belly full before gym, and eats belly full after gym.
Why? Because food is the number one source of adding to body size and strength. Taking only snacks to replace food before or after gym will not guarantee a good body structure or strength. You need rice, yam, beans, eggs, chicken, fish, fruits, and water in large quantities.
This is where the money comes in. Gym membership is cheap compared to the feeding bill. A serious lifter can spend 2 to 3 times more on food than on gym fees. Having a nice body structure will make you attractive to many people, especially high-value women who are not easily gotten by average men. But maintaining that body means you must eat like it is your job. Gymers are always hungry, they carry food in a flask and plan their day around meal times.
If food is scarce, their mood is bad, their energy is low, and their progress stops.
THE HIDDEN TRUTH ABOUT WEIGHT LIFTING
Weight lifting has many advantages such as; strong bones and joints, better posture and confidence, discipline and mental toughness and more opportunities for money and influence.
But it can also leave you with unforgettable injuries if you are careless. Back problems. Knee problems. Torn muscles. Hormonal issues from wrong drug use. That is why you must mind what you are choosing as a hobby or as a career.
Weight lifters look strong on the outside.
But on the inside, they are managing pain, managing hunger, and managing injuries every single day.
They won’t tell you because they don’t want to scare you. They also don’t want you to think they are weak.
So if you still want to be a weight lifter, go for it. Just go in with your eyes open.
Train smart. Eat well. Rest well.
And remember, the body you admire was built with sweat, pain, and a lot of food.
